The new head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, has reportedly asked the veteran trio of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah to play the ODI series against Sri Lanka. All three stars who featured in the T20 World Cup squad of India were to be rested for the upcoming series against the neighboring country. However, Gambhir has other plans for the stars.
As per the report, Gambhir has asked the stars to end their vacation and take part in the upcoming white-ball series. Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are currently out of the country and are reportedly yet to respond to Gambhir’s request.
The new head coach wants the trio of Kohli, Rohit, and Umrah to play against Sri Lanka, as they will get a one-month break after the series before India take on Bangladesh in a home series on September 19.
