As per Reports, Shardul Thakur joins LSG squad, set to travel for IPL 2025 match in Vizag

Shardul Thakur is set to join Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for IPL 2025 as a replacement for the injured Mohsin Khan. Thakur, who went unsold during the IPL mega auction, has been informed of his inclusion and will travel with the team to Visakhapatnam for their season opener against Delhi Capitals on March 24.

Mohsin Khan has been sidelined due to an ACL injury, compounded by a calf strain sustained during training, which has kept him out of action for three months. With several other key seamers, including Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav, also recovering from injuries, LSG faced a pressing need for an experienced bowler.

Thakur’s addition comes at a crucial time as he will lead LSG’s pace attack, given the uncertainty surrounding their fast-bowling resources. The squad currently includes only one overseas pacer, Shamar Joseph, along with young talents like RajvardhanHangargekar and Prince Yadav. Thakur brings valuable experience, having played 95 IPL matches and taken 94 wickets since his debut in 2015. As LSG looks to navigate the challenges posed by injuries, Thakur’s presence will be vital for their campaign in the upcoming season.
