In a viral video of himself making an obsessive gesture towards the fans during the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 match between India and Nepal at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy, Indian cricket legend Gautam Gambhir broke his silence.
Gambhir said that the screaming of anti-Indian slogans by Pakistan fans in the crowd was the cause of his enraged outburst. Video
"The crowd, which was primarily made up of Pakistani supporters, shouted anti-Indian chants and made remarks about Kashmir. As an Indian, I find it intolerable when people disparage my nation, which is why I reacted in this way. You shouldn't always believe everything you see on social media, Gambhir told reporters outside the stadium.
Gambhir is a member of the commentary team for the competition.
