He is currently in Sri Lanka for the ongoing Lanka Premier League, which features several Pakistan players, including Babar Azam. Last year, in the month of December, Ramiz Raja was sacked as the chairman of the PCB, with Najam Sethi taking over as interim chairman. The sacking of 60-year-old Ramiz came after a humiliating 3-0 whitewash against the England cricket team in the recently concluded test series held in Pakistan. He served as PCB chairman for 15 months after he was appointed by former premier Imran Khan to head the board in September 2021.
