Akash Madhwal, "The Engineer," breaks IPL bowling records for the Mumbai Indians

Akash Madhwal performed really well at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday as he took 5 wickets, which helped his team eliminate the Lucknow Supergiants from the Indian Premier League 2023 Eliminator match. Madhwal studied engineering and became the first cricketer from Uttarakhand to play in the IPL after he was bought by the Mumbai Indians in 2022 as a replacement for injured Suryakumar Yadav.
Only four years ago, he used to play tennis ball cricket and had never touched a red ball. In the year 2019, he got the attention of Wasim Jaffer, who is the coach of Uttarakhand, and also the present coach, Manish Jha, which resulted in the fast bowler starting his practise with the red ball.
He was also rewarded in the domestic season for his efforts as the white ball skipper. He also has an interesting connection with the Indian wicketkeeper and batsman Rishabh Pant, as both of them are from the same area in Uttarakhand. Even during his initial years, Madhav also used to train under Avatar Singh, who trained Rishabh Pant before he moved to Delhi.
Captain of the Mumbai Indians Rohit Sharma said after the match that Akash was part of the team last year as a support bowler, and once Jofra was gone, I knew he had the skills and the character to do the job for us. "Over the years, we have seen many guys come in from Mumbai Indians and play for India."
