In a major announcement ahead of SA20 Season 4, the Durban’s Super Giants have confirmed that Aiden Markram will take over as the team’s new captain.
Markram, who has already proven his leadership credentials with South Africa and in various T20 leagues worldwide, is seen as the ideal choice to guide the franchise in their pursuit of a maiden SA20 title. Known for his calm approach and sharp tactical mind, the 30-year-old brings both experience and consistency to the role.
Durban’s Super Giants management expressed confidence in Markram’s ability to lead a strong squad packed with international stars and local talent. His appointment is expected to bring stability and a fresh direction to the team’s campaign.
Markram will replace Keshav Maharaj, who captained the side previously, and will now shoulder the responsibility of taking the franchise deeper into the tournament.
With the SA20 growing in stature as one of the premier T20 leagues in the world, the move to hand Markram the captaincy signals the Super Giants’ intent to challenge strongly in Season 4.
