Ahead of Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Harbhajan Singh says, ‘India will be the team to beat but needs to be wary of Australia’

As the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 kicks off in the UAE, Harbhajan Singh emphasized India’s status as a formidable contender but cautioned them to remain vigilant against Australia. Speaking on October 3, he noted that while India boasts a strong lineup, including stars like SmritiMandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, they must not underestimate the Australian team, which has a rich history in the tournament.

Harbhajan highlighted the significance of India’s opening matches, particularly their clash with Australia on October 13, which could be pivotal for both teams. With Australia having won the title six times, their experience and skill make them a tough opponent. He urged Indian players to draw inspiration from their male counterparts’ recent successes in T20 cricket.

The tournament features ten teams divided into two groups, with India facing tough competition from Australia, New Zealand, and Pakistan in Group A.
