The wicketkeeper-batter for the Rajasthan Royals, DhruvJurel, disclosed that he sustained a hamstring injury during the current IPL 2024. Jurel emphasised the seriousness of the injury, stating that if he hadn’t missed a game, it might have gotten worse. The 22-year-old did not play for RR against DC on May 7 and came on as an impact substitute on May 12 against CSK.
Jurel said, “I had a hamstring injury that could have worsened if I kept playing, so I took off in the middle. Last game, I also played as an impact sub so that there wouldn’t be a lot of fielding. Now I’m feeling much better.”
During the match against SRH in Hyderabad, Jurel had to hobble off the field, giving RR a serious injury scare. When Jurel attempted to block Travis Head’s shot off Yuzvendra Chahal at the boundary line, he ended up spraining his hamstring.
