Ahead of the IND vs ENG 5th Test, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and R Ashwin attend the option net session

One day before the 5th Test match between India and England, which starts on Thursday, March 7, India kept an optional net session. Although most squad members decided to skip the net session ahead of the inconsequential test, some players brushed up on their skills.
Among them was Yashasvi Jaiswal, who leads the scoring charts in the series. Jaiswal is having a dream run at the moment. In spite of his good form, the Indian opener was seen toiling hard on the nets.
Other than Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Akash Deep, Rajat Patidar, and Mukesh Kumar were also seen to attend the practice. Perhaps the most surprising of the lot was Ravichandran Ashwin. Ashwin, who will feature in his 100th Test for Team India, showed unwavering determination by attending the optional net session.
India has already wrapped up the series ahead of the Dharamshala Test. After losing the first Test of the 5-match series, India staged a remarkable turnaround. Rohit Sharma’s men won the next three Tests to wrap up the series with a match to spare. However, the result of the match will impact India’s World Test Championship standings, and hence it is important for Team India to finish the series on a high.
