Ahead of the final vs. Australia Eoin Morgan says, “Mohammed Shami adds value to India's strength”

Former England captain Eoin Morgan has heaped praise on India pacer Mohammed Shami, saying he has added value to India's strength in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue are set to take on Australia in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.
While speaking, Morgan said that the control that Shami has shown throughout the World Cup has been great to admire. Shami is the leading wicket-taker in the 2023 World Cup, claiming 23 wickets in six matches in the tournament.
Morgan said, “I've faced him over the years, and you would have to say his level of accuracy he continues to produce brings a level of predictability, but also when you're channelling your focus into doing one single thing, it allows very little margin for error. The level of control he has shown throughout this tournament to move the ball off the seam and into the air has been great to admire.”
He further added that “seven for 57 in a one-day international is unheard of, particularly in a World Cup knockout game where there is a huge amount of pressure on him. He comes on, goes bang-bang, and all of a sudden has them back in the game and just does it with ease. To have someone like that at your disposal for Rohit Sharma adds more value to the strength of India.”
