The star seamer of team India Mohammed Shami who has been out of action since the conclusion of the 2023 World Cup, is eyeing to return in time for the crucial Test games starting in September.
Firstly, India will host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series from September 19, before playing red-ball games against New Zealand and Australia. Meanwhile, Shami, who played the World Cup with an injury in left-foot ankle, underwent surgery and was ruled out of IPL 2024 and T20 World Cup 2024.
Recently, Shami posted a video of him rehabilitating at his home and updated that he has resumed light training as he was seen bowling in the nets. In the latest events, Shami, who visited Eden Gardens in Kolkata, spoke to the Bengal players and remarked that he is unsure of his comeback date, but is eyeing to play for Bengal before making a comeback to the Indian side.
Shami said during his felicitation, “It’s difficult to say when I will be back. I am trying hard but hopefully, you will get to see me in Bengal colours before I don the India jersey again. I will come to play two or three matches for Bengal and will come fully prepared for it.”
