After World Cup heroics Hardik Pandya becomes the No. 1 all-rounder

The star all-rounder of team India, Hardik Pandya, climbed to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I all-rounder ranking after his heroics in the T20 World Cup 2024. Hardik rose to two places to go level with Sri Lanka’s WaninduHasaranga as the top-ranked men’s T20I all-rounder. The vice captain of India made important contributions as their T20 World Cup-winning captain with both the bat and the ball. He emerged as the hero of India in the final against South Africa at the Kensignton Oval in Barbados on June 29.
Through the entire course of the tournament, Hardik came up with handy cameos down the order and provided the team with crucial breakthroughs. The highlight of Hardik's performance was the wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller on the day of the final, which turned the tide in India’s direction after South Africa were once cruising in the chase of 177 runs.
The star all-rounder finished off the campaign on an impressive note. He scored 144 runs at a strikeout rate of 151.57 in six innings across eight matches, including a half-century. He has taken 11 wickets in 8 matches, with the best figures of 3/20 in the final at an economy rate of 7.64.
