After winning Champions Trophy, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya joins IPL 2025 camp 40 hours

Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), has joined the team’s preparatory camp for the IPL 2025 season just 40 hours after winning the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai. Despite the quick turnaround, he has chosen not to rest and will immediately focus on getting into his T20 form. This decision comes after a disappointing IPL season last year, marked by significant team changes, including Hardik becoming captain and Rohit Sharma stepping down. The team dynamics have improved since then, and Hardik aims to lead MI to a record-breaking sixth IPL title.

However, Hardik will miss the opening match against the Chennai Super Kings on March 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. This absence is due to a one-month ban imposed by the BCCI for a slow over rate in MI’s last IPL 2024 game, marking the third such offense. Despite this setback, Hardik remains committed to turning the team’s fortunes around and achieving success in the upcoming season. His leadership and determination are crucial as MI seeks to bounce back from a challenging year.
