After the Lords test against the West Indies, James Anderson is going to take a retirement from test cricket
The Legend of England cricket team James Anderson, has announced his retirement from test cricket after the opening test match against the West Indies, which is going to be held in the month of July. He dropped a post on his social media account to put forth his decision to bid farewell to international cricket.
Anderson, via a statement, said, “Hi everyone, just a note to say that the first test of the summer at Lords will be my last test.”
The fast bowler is currently third on the list of leading wicket takers in the history of test cricket after legendary Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. He has 700 wickets to his name from 187 test matches since 2003. James Anderson is nine wickets short of going past his tally to beat Warne, who has 708 wickets on his name.
A glorious era in the fast bowling of English came to an end as both Anderson and Stuart Broad are not going to feature in their bowling attack anymore. Anderson said that he wished for youngsters to make a mark for the Brits and hence decided to end his career.
