After Smashing Majestic 161; Yashasvi Jaiswal equalls Sachin Tendulkar’s feat in unique record list

Yashasvi Jaiswal has made history by scoring his maiden Test century in Australia during the ongoing Test match against Australia in Perth. The 22-year-old opener, who started with a duck in the first innings, bounced back spectacularly to score 161 runs off 297 balls, marking his fourth Test century overall.

Jaiswal’s innings included eight fours and three sixes, showcasing his explosive batting style. This performance places him among elite company, as he becomes the third Indian cricketer to score a century on his debut in Australia, joining legends like Sunil Gavaskar.

With this century, Jaiswal has now surpassed 150 runs in all four of his Test centuries, including two double centuries. He is also among the few players to have achieved multiple 150+ scores before turning 23, alongside cricket greats like Don Bradman and Sachin Tendulkar.

Having debuted in 2023 against the West Indies, Jaiswal has quickly established himself as a key player for India, amassing impressive statistics with an average of 57.50 and a best score of 214.
