After Shimron Hetmyer smashes stumps in frustration, the RR star is fined by BCCI

The batsman of the Rajasthan Royals, Shimron Hetmyer’s dismissal in Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, wasn’t just his personal low point; it also landed him in trouble with the BCCI. The reaction of Hetmyer to his dismissal, which involved him smashing the stumps in frustration, resulted in a 10% fine from his match fees.
The BCCI penalised Hetmyer for a Level 1 offence under the IPL Code of Conduct. He readily admitted to the act and accepted the match referee’s sanction, bringing the matter to a swift resolution.
The BCCI said, “Shimron Hetmyer of the Rajasthan Royals has been fined 10 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on May 24.”
BCCI added, “Hetmyer committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the match referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the match referee’s decision is final and binding.”
