After RCB’s Faf du Plessis, Captain Sanju Samson of RR was fined for this offence against CSK

Although Rajasthan Royals won the thrilling match against Chennai Super Kings, captain Sanju Samson was fined for maintaining a slow over rate against their opponents, the Chennai Super Kings. After Faf du Plessis, who is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Samson became the second captain to breach the code of conduct in the IPL. Captain Samson was fined Rs. 12 lakhs because it was the first over-rate offence for RR in the IPL 2023 season. If this happens again for the second time, then the captain of RR will be banned for one game.

They were found behind the over rate after the last over bowled by Sandeep Sharma. In the match against CSK, the bowlers of RR were guilty of bowling a number of wides and no balls. After considering all the breaks, the match officials found Samson short by a few overs, and this is not the first time in the IPL that Samson has been fined for maintaining a slow over rate. Back in the 2021 IPL season, the wicketkeeper, RR, was also fined twice.

Speaking about the match, while chasing the target of 176 runs to win, MS Dhoni-led CSK fell short by three runs as finisher Dhoni could not finish things off for his team.
