India, led by Niki Prasad, clinched the inaugural ACC Under-19 Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2024 title by defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs in the final held at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on December 22. The victory marked a significant achievement for the young Indian team, who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

Batting first after losing the toss, India managed to score 117 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Gongadi Trisha was the standout performer, scoring a crucial half-century with 52 runs off 47 balls, including five fours and two sixes. Mithila Vinod contributed with a quick 17 runs, hitting two boundaries in the final over.

For Bangladesh, pacer FarjanaEasmin was the star with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 31 runs in her four overs. Despite her efforts, Bangladesh struggled in their chase and were bowled out for just 76 runs in 18.2 overs. Indian bowlers ParunikaSisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Sonam Yadav each played pivotal roles, dismantling the Bangladeshi batting lineup.
