Malti Chahar who is the sister of Deepak Chahar, has come to his defence after he sustained an injury during Chennai Super Kings’ game against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League 2024. The match, held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, May 1, saw Chahar walk off the pitch due to his injury.
Deepak Chahar started his over well, with a dot ball, but soon limped after conceding a boundary to Prabhsimran Singh. After just two deliveries, he consulted with his skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and decided to leave the field limping after sustaining a hamstring injury. Shardul Thakur completed the remaining balls of the over.
Chahar’s injury attracted criticism from various quarters, with many questioning his fitness. However, his sister, Malti, took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out critics for their insensitive comments. “Stop being so insensitive, guys! Nobody is enjoying these injuries! He is trying his best and he will come back stronger!” Malti Chahar tweeted.
