Fans are expressing outrage over what they perceive as the board’s pressure on Iyer to play in the Ranji Trophy, potentially aggravating his existing condition.
Fans believe this was undue pressure that ultimately led to Iyer’s current predicament. Notably, Shreyas Iyer has not played on Day 4 and Day 5 of the Ranji Trophy Final at the Wankhede Stadium. According to the report, this is because of an injury, and the Kolkata Knight Riders captain could now also miss out on the initial matches of the Indian Premier League 2024.
Fans are also questioning the rationale behind pushing Shreyas Iyer to play in the Ranji Trophy if he wasn’t fully fit. Additionally, some are skeptical of the National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) assessment that declared him fit to play.
