After 27 years, batting failure sees India lose an ODI series to Sri Lanka

In the third ODI on Wednesday, August 7 at Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka, registered a historic series win over India as they beat them by 110 runs. Indian cricket team India suffered a series loss against Sri Lanka after 27 years.
The last time Sri Lanka defeated India in an ODI series was in August 1997, when the Arjun Ranatunga-led team defeated The Men in Blue by 3-0 in the three-match series. Since then, both teams have played 11 bilateral ODI series, with the Men in Blue emerging victorious in all of them.
The first ODI of the series ended in a draw, whereas Sri Lanka defeated Rohit-led men in blue by 32 runs in the second ODI. The Men in Blue failed to chase down the target of 248 runs in the third ODI and lost the match by a big margin.
