According to a report, Hardik Pandya will lead India in T20Is against Sri Lanka

After the announcement of Rohit Sharma to retire from T20 International after winning the ICC T20 World Cup, all-rounder Hardik Pandya is going to lead team India in the shortest format of the game, while wicketkeeper and batsman KL Rahul is going to lead team India in ODI, according to the sources. BCCI sources said, “Hardik Pandya is ready to lead team India in the T20 format of the game as Rohit Sharma announced his retirement. Hardik is also unlikely to be restored for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. 
In the T20 World Cup, Hardik scored 144 runs in 6 innings at an average of 48.0 and a strike rate of 150.57, which consists of one half century and the best score of unbeaten 50. He also took 11 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 17.36 and an economy rate of 7.64, with the best figures of 3/20.

The T20 World Cup tournament marked a redemption for Hardik, who was trolled badly in every stadium across India during the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League after taking over the captaincy of the Mumbai Indians from Rohit Sharma.
