Aakash Chopra says, “Don’t be surprised if Hyderabad lifts the trophy”
Former cricketer of team India Aakash Chopra picked KKR to be the IPL 2024 champions but also mentioned that SRH have the full capability to pull off a surprise. KKR holds an upper hand over SRH, having defeated them in the last two encounters. Meanwhile, Hyderabad are coming into the encounter on the back of an epic win by 36 runs against RR in Qualifier 2 at the M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Friday, May 24.
KKR has reached the final three times and managed victory on two of those occasions, in 2012 and 2014. Meanwhile, SRH have reached the IPL final twice and managed a title win in 2016. This will be the first time that the two sides will face each other in the summit clash.
Aakash Chopra felt that Hyderabad would give a tough fight to the Shreyas Iyer-led side, who had lifted their maiden IPL trophy in 2012 at Chepauk itself.
Aakash said on his YouTube channel, “It’s going to be a good game. I feel this encounter will be extremely enjoyable. Hyderabad will not go down without a fight. Don’t be surprised if they lift the trophy. That is also possible. It is the third final for both teams (fourth for KKR). KKR lifted the trophy at this ground itself in 2012 after beating Chennai.”
