A house party invitation from Virat Kohli for Pakistan cricketers turns out to be fake

After around seven years, the Pakistan Cricket Team is in India to participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. On September 27, the Babar Azam-led side arrived in Hyderabad before the mega tournament and has been enjoying lavish hospitality in the cricket-crazy nation.

After the arrival of Pakistan in India, a tweet by star India batter Virat Kohli went viral all over social media, in which the former India captain welcomed the Pakistan team and announced to host a party for them.

The viral tweet reads, “I warmly welcome the Pakistan Cricket Team on their arrival in my country. After a long period of 7 years, I will host a party for my friends, especially Shadab, at my house. I love you all. Always spread love and joy.”

However, upon further investigation, it was found out that the tweet was not posted by the official account of Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) but from a fake account with the username @amiVkohli. Furthermore, while checking Kohli’s Twitter posts from September 27 onwards, no such tweet was made from the official account.
