A former Indian star issues a stern warning to the team ahead of the ODI World Cup in 2023

All eyes are going to be on Jasprit Bumrah, who has come back into the T20 series against Ireland. This is going to be his comeback series after being out of action for almost two years because of a recurring back injury. Former Indian star Mohammad Kaif said that team India will struggle in the ODI World Cup 2023 without Bumrah, who died in the T20 World Cup in Australia last year. He also doesn't agree with the view that India has the depth to field two or three teams, at least not in the bowling department.
Kaif said that "for the players who are injured, India's chances in the World Cup will depend a lot on their comeback. Bumrah is coming now after a long injury layoff, and we will get an idea of how fit he is. India need a fully fit Bumrah to do well in the World Cup at home. In the bowling department, you can't have two teams. If Bumrah doesn't play, we will lose, like we did in the Asia Cup T20 and the 2022 T20 World Cup. We don't have his backup.
He also said that, "At the moment, the team is not looking the strongest on paper as it is missing key players including KL Rahul, Pant, and Iyer, and the biggest factor is Bumrah."
