Around 12 years ago on this day, i.e., March 20, 2011, Yuvi played a match-winning century for the team in the World Cup. This inning was quite special for him because he returned to the field after overcoming his illness. In the match, he showed his skills not only with the bat but also with the ball. Till now, nobody has forgotten the way he performed in that match.
After winning the toss, India decided to bat first. Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir who came to start the innings got dismissed way too early as India score was 52 runs at the loss of two wickets. After this, Youvraj Singh took the lead with Virat Kohli, and both of them shared a partnership of 122 runs. Virat lost his wicket after scoring 59 runs.
While batting, Yuvraj Singh looked troubled a lot of times, as he vomited several times while batting during his innings. Despite all this, he did not give up and scored 113 runs. He hit 10 fours and two sixes during his innings, whereas while bowling, he took the wickets of Devin Thomas and Andre Russell for 18 runs. Because of his amazing performance, he also won the title of player of the match.
Throughout the World Cup, he performed really well with bat and ball. He scored 362 runs in the World Cup, took 15 wickets, and won the player of the tournament award.
